FAQ

Common questions.

Quick answers to the things people ask before placing a quote. If yours isn't here, drop us a line.

Is your pricing competitive? Someone said it seemed expensive.

We hear this occasionally and it almost always comes from comparing embroidery to screen print or DTG, two completely different processes. Machine embroidery is more durable, more premium, and more labour-intensive than print. Compared to other Melbourne embroidery studios, our pricing is consistently 10-30% lower at equivalent quantities. An embroidered Supply Hood at 10 units (garment + chest logo) lands around $46 all-in, where the same garment embroidered elsewhere in Melbourne typically runs $60-80. Jackets and premium styles are priced higher because the blanks themselves cost more, we add the same margin regardless. If you get a cheaper quote elsewhere for identical quality (premium blank, machine embroidery, 2-week turnaround), send it through and we'll tell you honestly whether it's apples-to-apples.

What's the minimum order for custom embroidered apparel?

Ten units total across the whole order. You can mix sizes and colours within a single garment style. Pricing scales further at 25, 50, 100 and 250+ unit tiers.

How long does custom embroidery take?

Two weeks from artwork signoff to dispatch as standard. Rush options on a case-by-case basis. Production happens in our Mckinnon office on industrial machines, no outsourcing.

How much does embroidery cost per shirt?

Embroidery is priced by real stitch count. Most chest logos run 6,000-10,000 stitches and cost between $9.92 and $16.60 per garment depending on your qty tier. A one-off $30 digitising setup per new logo may apply, but it isn't charged in the online quote - if your logo needs digitising we add it once, separately, after you order, and never charge twice for the same logo. Stock-library designs and reorders never pay it.

What file formats do you accept for artwork?

PNG, JPG, SVG, AI, EPS or PDF. Vector formats embroider best. Your logo is auto-digitised through Wilcom and priced from the real stitch count in seconds.

Can I get embroidery on AS Colour blanks?

Yes - the catalogue is built on premium blanks, machine-embroidered in Melbourne. Pick a garment, drop your logo, see a stitch-true preview on the live canvas.

Do you do team uniforms and corporate apparel?

Yes - polos, tees, hoodies, jackets, caps, beanies, aprons, socks and bags. Bulk pricing kicks in at 10 units; deeper discounts at 25, 50, 100, 250 and 400+.

What's a typical stitch count for a logo?

A simple chest logo digitises to around 6,000-10,000 stitches. A back print or large badge runs 15,000-22,000. Designs over 22,000 add a flat $0.45 per extra 1,000 stitches on top.

Do you do print as well as embroidery?

No, embroidery only. Focusing on one craft delivers better outcomes than trying to do everything. If you need DTG or screen print our retail site can point you to a partner.

How do I pay for a wholesale order?

By card at checkout via Shopify. Production is queued as soon as payment clears. Larger accounts can request a Net invoice.

Is GST included in the quote?

The quote shows the subtotal ex GST, GST at 10%, and the total inc GST. You pay the total inc GST.

Do you store digitised logos for reorders?

Yes - we hold every digitised file on record for twelve months. Reorders reuse your held file, so there's no digitising setup again. Saved designs surface in the design canvas when you sign in with the email used on the original order.
